Adıǵe Keyboard (package name com.adyghe.keyboard) is a multilingual Android keyboard (input method). It is made for typing Adyghe (Adıǵe) in Latin and Cyrillic, and also includes Arabic, Hebrew, English (US), Turkish, and Russian layouts.
This policy describes what the app does with information on your device. It is written for Google Play and for anyone who uses the keyboard.
1. Summary
The app is designed to work entirely on your device. It does not include an Internet permission, advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or account sign-in. We do not operate a backend that receives your keystrokes, clipboard contents, or other personal data from the app.
- We do not collect personal information from the app.
- We do not sell or share user data.
- Text you type is inserted into the app you are using; it is not sent to us.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Adıǵe Keyboard Android application published on Google Play. The developer of the app is the data controller for this policy. If we do not receive your data, there is nothing stored on our systems to access, correct, or delete.
3. Information processed on your device
As a keyboard, the app must handle input locally so that characters appear in the field you are typing in. That processing happens on your phone or tablet. It is not uploaded to us.
3.1 Keystrokes and surrounding text
When you tap keys, the keyboard converts those presses into characters (or emoji) and delivers them to the currently focused text field through Android’s input-method APIs. To support composing, backspace, and related editing, the keyboard may briefly read a small amount of text around the cursor in that field.
We do not keep a history of what you type. We do not use your typing to build a personal profile. Word suggestions in the current version do not learn from your input and do not send text off the device.
The application you are typing into (for example a messaging or search app) receives the text you insert. That app’s own privacy policy applies to what it does with your text.
3.2 Clipboard
While the keyboard window is visible, the app may read text from the system clipboard so you can paste recent clips from the keyboard toolbar. Up to five recent text clips are kept in memory for that purpose.
- Clipboard text is not written to app storage.
- Clipboard text is not sent off the device.
- The app stops watching the clipboard when the keyboard is hidden.
- In-memory clipboard history is discarded when the app process ends.
3.3 Keyboard settings
Your language and layout preferences may be saved in local app storage on the device so they persist between sessions. That information stays on the device and is not transmitted by the app.
3.4 Host app details
Android tells the keyboard the package name and input type of the field you are typing in (for example, whether it is a password, email, or number field). The keyboard uses this only on-device, to adjust composing and layout behavior. It is not sent to us.
3.5 Haptic feedback
The app requests the VIBRATE permission so keys can give a short vibration. Vibration is not used to collect personal data.
4. Information we do not collect
The app does not collect or request:
- Names, email addresses, or other account information
- Location
- Contacts, photos, files, or microphone audio
- Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
- Analytics, advertising, or crash logs sent to us or to third parties
The app does not include third-party SDKs whose purpose is advertising, analytics, or social login.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information obtained through the app. The app has no network access with which to transmit such information to us or to third parties.
If you contact us by email or through the project’s public issue tracker, we will see whatever you choose to send in that message, and we will use it only to respond to your request.
6. Android backup
The app allows Android’s standard backup feature. If device backup is enabled on your phone, Google’s backup service may include local app preferences (such as language settings) in your backup. We do not receive that backup. Clipboard history is kept only in memory and is not part of app storage.
7. Children’s privacy
Adıǵe Keyboard is a general-audience keyboard. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information from users, we do not have children’s data to delete from our servers.
8. Data security
Because keystroke and clipboard handling stay on the device, the main protection is that the app does not send that data over the network. You can further limit access by disabling the keyboard in Android’s input-method settings or by uninstalling the app.
No method of storage on a device is perfectly secure. If you type or paste secrets (passwords, recovery codes, and similar), treat the keyboard like any other input method: only enable keyboards you trust, and be aware that any keyboard can see what you type while it is selected.
9. Your choices
- You can switch to another keyboard at any time in Android system settings.
- Uninstalling Adıǵe Keyboard removes its local preferences from the device.
- You can clear the app’s storage from Android settings if you want to reset local preferences without uninstalling.
10. International users
The app is intended to run locally on your device wherever you install it from Google Play. We do not transfer app usage data to our servers. If you contact us, the information in your message may be processed in the country where we read and respond to it.
11. Changes to this policy
If the app’s behavior changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, adding network features, accounts, or off-device suggestions), we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use of the app after an update means you should review the revised policy.
